[1803, au] KB4493464 breaking DHCP

Starting rolling out April’s updates only to find machines unable to logon. Turns out updated machines have a 169.x.x.x address so cannot access the domain but setting a static address the machine connects ok.

 

Removing KB4493464 restores normal service and luckily only 7 machines got updated before I noticed the problem.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm... glad I saw this before I started rolling them out (today!). Will test and see!

I think there is a link between Sophos and this update

Glad I held back on everything Windows 10 and April related when I last rolled WSUS updates out. These can all go in the 'no thanks, I'll wait for 05/19' bin.

For us this update is only affecting Lenovo Thickpads probably, because of the wifi issue. We also have a few Dells that are on wifi but not had time to test those yet. https://windowsreport.com/kb4493464-bugs/
