Mobile Phone signal booster

Think this is the right forum - please move if not...

 

I'm spending a lot of evening and weekends at the moment working about 5 miles past the back end of nowhere with a very poor (and at best in a couple of places 2 bar) mobile signal and no wifi. I was thinking about trying to put a powered mobile phone signal booster at the end of one of the barns where the signal is best but looking at them on-line there are hundreds of various features and quality.

 

Does anyone have any experience with these, looking for one that will work with O2 and 3G (which is still better than "no signal" or the dreaded "E" roaming data status...)

We asked O2 about this at my last place as in the warehouse there was no signal but plenty as soon as you went outside. They said £10,000 was a starting price and we stopped listening after that!

I have one, its connected directly to my home hub, it works well, but i didnt have to pay as it came as a 'gift' from are mobile provider at work.

The ones that take a signal from outside and boost it inside are not cheap. Maybe cheaper to get a broadband connection installed and use one of the boosters they provide as you can be paying thousands for none internet one.

The O2 boostbox starts at around £79 but you need an internet connection which you don't have. the only other way would be a voice or data hotspot but as you say there are hundreds of varieties. Have you got power?

Thanks everyone for your replies. Power isn't an issue, got a 3 pin plug fairly close to where the best (only) signal can be found.

 

Looks like the Signal Booster Primo might work, will have a play (not my money..)

Nope, parents are using one now. it's still supported by O2

My o2 boostbox is rubbish tbf, got 3 months left in contract then will have to jump ship.
