Photo card ID

Hi all,

 

First time posting!

 

I am currently using a magicard rio pro using chip to print of names as a way for staff and students to use for cafeteria and printing purposes. I am wanting to know if there is any software where I can create a template and change the cards to use more as an all in one and add identity (possibly picture) that I can use in a lanyard.

 

On first viewing in looks like I need another card machine but looking for some ideas, which would be much appreciated.

We are using Paxton Net2 to run all our cards, If this is something you have onsite it is fairly simple to setup.

We have Paxton and use their Card Designer to make templates, this then uses the Paxton database to merge details to an Evolis printer that churns them out. The only special thing we have is a piece of Software called AD2Net that syncs AD to Paxton. It can be a bit special sometimes but generally works OK.

I think the magicard printers show up as normal windows printers, so most programs sould send something to them.

 

We use a custom web app and print them from chrome or IE.

 

I think there was some talk of using MS Word and a Sims report on edugeek at one point. You'd just need to set the page size to the card size and get the orientation correct.

This. We have a magicard printer which is just shown as a standard printer in Windows.

 

We have an automated SIMS report to pull out data daily and use Salamander photo export to get the images back out of SIMS.

 

We then mailmerge into our publisher template which is essentially a custom paper size, the size of an ID card

You don't need a different printer - it should just show up as a printer in Windows.

 

We have a networked Magicard Rio Pro 360 and use the following:

 

- Paxton Net2 card designer for staff ID cards (printed onto Paxton cards)

- MS Word document for staff lunch/library/printer passes (mailmerged with names only)

- Custom program which integrates with the MIS for student ID/lunch/library/printer cards

We use a Rio card printer as well with Facility and Word. We use the embedded option to write to the magcard stripes on it (text in the printout starting ~ will be written to the magstrip, eg ~110967 ).

We use https://cardexchangesolutions.com/producer-go-edition except it's the Ultimate edition as it came with Nationwide (Truste) SmartSync.

 

Print a card from NRS SmartAdmin database, it pops into CardExchange to print, read's ID then spits it into AD, NRS and TrustE.
