chrisjako Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Ever since enabling MFA our PSF software is unable to send remittance emails PSF as expected have been completely useless for support on this issue, when I run a test under the SMTP settings i get a sucessfull check returned however the software is still unable to send emails and comes back with an SMTP response error Had anyone had a likewise issue?
IT_JB Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 How do you have it configured in PSF at the moment? You can configure it to use a connector in O365 to send emails without needing authentication.
chrisjako Posted April 2, 2019 Author Posted April 2, 2019 do you not need an onpremise server to setup a connector?
FishCustard Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 You can whitelist certain IP ranges so that they don't require MFA: https://www.bettercloud.com/monitor/the-academy/how-to-whitelist-ip-addresses-for-multi-factor-authentication/
IT_JB Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 You can create them in the exchange admin panel. Admin Centre -> Exchange -> Mail Flow -> Connectors
chrisjako Posted April 2, 2019 Author Posted April 2, 2019 You can create them in the exchange admin panel. Admin Centre -> Exchange -> Mail Flow -> Connectors From organisation server to office 365 based on IP whitelist?
IT_JB Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Exactly that, whitelist the public IP of your PSF server. Then in the SMTP config in PSF put in your MX address instead of the normal O365 SMTP address and tick the option for no authentication required. Emails will then get passed from your PSF server to O365 via the connector and get sent out as the required from address. 1

Thanks for that info its now partially working, by partially i mean I can now use the PSF emailer remittance process to send out emails to external domains, just not any internal addresses I have a rule in place to block spoofing, added the "except if sender is" exception for both the IP ranges and the account we want to send out from but still no joy
kennysarmy Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 We moved to Office 365 recently and our bursar has just reported : "Since changing the email system the budget holders and us appear not to be receiving alerts of requisitions and orders being raised for approval and processing." Totally our fault in not updating things in PSF to change from our on-prem email solution to the new Office 365 settings. PSF Support advise: 1. Within Accounting please go to Masters > Ledgers > Parameters and then amend the emailport and emailserver section. 2. Within Document emailer and Remittance Emailer please click on the icon, make the amendments and then click save. 3. Within Sentinel Admin please click on the 'options' tab and you will need to amend the SMTP Server and Username and password if one has been entered. I presume 1 and 2 need to be done per workstation & per user? WRT 3, will I need to create a new AD account (say School Name Sentinel), sync that with O365 and then use those account details in the sentinel settings?
