Leasing computers / laptops ipads due capital budgets being non existent

Many years ago leasing seemed a popular solution.

 

Are any schools still leasing - especially in the current financial climate?

One of my former schools would never go anything but lease - and then at the end of the lease would buy the all in onces instead of returning to use them in Nursery and Reception. Nearly all the others replaced piecemeal - so a laptop trolley one year, teacher laptops the next, another laptop trolley the year after, then the admin, hall and libary etc the last year.

We do not lease anything except our MFDs.

We think it is a waste of money when 10 year old machines work still and well at that.

Plus with the way Finances are these days, our school is just about covering salary costs!

Nope, everytime it's been brought up I think the SBM thinks "great we can budget that cost" without realising at the end they've basically paid over the odds for what is now 5x year old equipment.
