Hi All,

Do any of you use online accident book software? if you are happy to do so, could you name the system you use?

Mods feel free to move this if its' not in the right place.

Thank you all

Not at rant at you OP but it makes me chuckle how everything has to be electronic nowadays.

Signing-in systems, accident book, door access etc. Why?

The one that annoys me most is electronic payslips - I still have payslips from all my jobs, but the electronic ones employers force you to use "expire" after 6x months. Funny how the bit of paper I've got from over a decade ago hasn't expired! Rant over.

Google Forms FTW but who's going to end up adding changes etc. Scope creep is a major possibility with this "free stuff". Remember just because you might be technical enough to set it up and maintain it, doesn't mean the next person will be. E.g. Things my predecessor used to do I don't do as I'm not employed at the same scale, so simple answer there = No.

Also what if there's an incident and there's some issue with entering it into a home-brew electronic system? Version control, history etc.

I understand where you are coming from, and paper based systems are always great as well as homebrew.

We have just been asked to look at what everyone else is using as our current system doesn't seem to do or be as flexible as the person using it wants it to be. We have been asked to look for a RIDDOR compliant system, so im am just getting ideas to pass on.

For analysis. So much to be learnt from doing analysis on electronic versions. I.e repeat offender's, issues with certain staff, dangerous areas. Also, from a GDPR perspective, easier for data retention management.

Unfortunately this is the way of the world....your paper slip may seem like a great thing but if there was a fire then where would that record be?

We have to move on to a completely paperless system even though it would seem frustrating for some....

The scanned versions of them I have on the PC! I have digital copies and original hard-copies. To clarify I meant about the arbitrary decision of "Oh we'll expire this digital thing in x months" sort of approach, just seems so random and illogical.

Cashless society - depends on your opinion, but cashless is tracked for every penny you spend :/

As long as they realised every "feature" on their (let's face it - a wishlist) generally comes at an added cost and not as standard with some e.g. basic car v the model with everything in (as extras) isn't going to cost the same as the base model did.

Adobe, Microsoft etc have figured this out now and that's the way it's going to stay for the foreseeable future. All extras can be added or activated at an additional cost. But in that model of sales/support when does it end? E.g. Do we charge for support per ticket or per user?

As long as it's used for that purpose and not some ulterior motives we've probably all seen in schools "data" used for. For me the Inventry system proves what I already know, that I never leave work on time when I'm supposed to finish.

We use CPOMS for all accident and safeguarding concerns.

We're getting that setup too.

We used to use an access database that i created for our accidents then moved on to buliding a spiceworks server hosted internally with custom fields and a custom form - our first aider who creates the tickets loves it.

If accidents match specific rules emails and notifications are sent to relevant distribution groups with a custom email notification layout.

The only issue is the actual reports, Spiceworks reports are bloody useless even if we'd used an Online Form the results are still in excel and something would need to be created to make readable reports so i use an odbc driver to connect to the spiceworks tickets and report on various Custom Fields, again the reporting system i built again for our Site Manager to run reports.

What ever system you choose make sure you can run readable reports.
