ctstone Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Hello all, In the Christmas Holidays, we had a new SIMS Server installed by a c®apita engineer. Since coming back, we have found that No One can edit the S Drive. Not even the Domain Administrator (unless your logged directly onto the server). We have tried giving certain people & other domain admins "Full Control" over the network share but this still doesn't resolve the issue. We have logged the job with Capita however, they are very very slow and have already been waiting since the 2nd January. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this one? Thanks in Advanced, Charlie Manor School Sports College
SpaceInvader83 Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Hi it will be locked down with NTFS permissions and I'd look into what permissions you really need to assign to your end users.
PotNoodleTech Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 It's the folder permissions on the S drive at fault, and if domain administrators has not been added to the Local Administrators group then you are probably going to need to log in to the Local Administrator account to add the relevant permissions. Call capita aback in and get them to fix it because an S drive that's un writeable is an s drive that is useless!
ctstone Posted January 16, 2019 Author Posted January 16, 2019 Cheers guys, you was absolutely correct 1
