Berttielp Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Quick one. reviewing the monitoring software we use in the classrooms... We are considering reviewing the following Senso Impero Lanschool Netsupport School Anyone recommend looking at any others ? Regards rob
BOOT Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 I've been using Veyon recently... Shows promise. 2
ShellfishClive Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 We uses Veyon too, seems to be working really well and it doesn't cost anything. Updated regularly too so that's a bonus.
karldenton Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Definitely Netsupport school. We have rolled it out to our IT suite. The IT teacher finds it really easy to lock and control pupils screens. It does many more features too - have a check on the website The support is amazing and on hand for any issues you may have. 1
Wubbalubbadub Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Recently made a move from Impero to Senso here.
Berttielp Posted December 8, 2018 Author Posted December 8, 2018 How are you finding senso?...I had a close look at it in July .... A bit more detail on our requirements 500 student PCs Need logging to a central server / database IWF Keyword list URL logging Wol Groups / policies Etc Etc
AlanD Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Ah - so you are not wanting a teacher monitoring system - you want the system to do the monitoring for you....which narrows down the options. And you don't want something that gives lots of false positives. Netsupport has always seemed like a mature product....but too expensive for us.....we use RM Tutor (which is based on Netsupport - but without its logging and safety detection systems) They (probably others too) allow you to do a test install for a month - which gives you a pretty good way to judge how well it works. 1

Few little bugs, but the support is good and they seem to be on top of most issues. 1

A bit more detail on our requirements 500 student PCs Need logging to a central server / database IWF Keyword list URL logging Wol Groups / policies Etc Etc Netsupport DNA can do all those for you. As IT managers we use DNA for all the above, then deploy NetSupport School in the IT sites for teachers to manage. 1

tom_newton Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Does sound like you want more of a safeguarding product than classroom management. Smoothwall's moderated monitoring product might be best for you - the missing piece being WoL (which is an odd one that creeps into some old school classroom management products). We define classroom management's "job" as helping teachers maintain student focus in class, while Safeguard Monitoring software is there to ensure long term welfare of students, and identify vulnerability before it happens. WoL/Power management/Fleet tracking to us fits in neither of those boxes.
