Hi all, Interested to know your thoughts on blocking AI Chat, particularly in primary schools. We use Securly as web filter and their is a global policy to block AI Chat, but it does not seem easy to apply this to the students policy only. Some primary schools seem to encourage students and some would like to block it all (moving target!!) Clearly there are safeguarding issues around AI

Hi all, Is anyone using Windows 11SE at scale and if so which devices are you using. We have a requirement for a new class set of devices to be used mainly with a browser and office, though I suspect teachers will want other apps at a later date. I know that the APPs allowed with 11SE are restricted which might present a problem. Is 11SE even still a thing .....

So … we have closed this off …. thanks for all your replies … very helpful In the end ...we now have bells for P1, End of break and End of lunch .... all works very well indeed!! No tech involved !!

Hi All, Some of the SLT are asking if we can replace the school bell system with software that pushes alerts to teachers PCs. 1) Has anyone come accross a system to do this at all ? 2) If you have has it worked well for the teaching staff ? 3) Apparently some schools have done away with most of the lesson change over bells and rely on teachers using the classroom clock or their watches ? Any feedback welcome. Thanks

So here is an example... Our longest backup retention is 6 weeks currently (according to documentation should be 8). Student A could delete a piece of work just before the summer holidays start, come back to school and 1 week in or so find that some of her data is missing and we find there is no backup of the work .. Any thoughts ? Regards Rob

Hi All, We are currently reviewing our backup requirements and in particular data retention. We are a UK secondary school. how long are you all keeping your data for before the backups are overwritten. how long to you keep student data after they have left the school. Is any of your data retained off-site in the true sense of the word. Ie a remote site well away from school property. Regards Rob
