Side note, the prices these days are a little mad so I went SIM Only. 18 month interest free credit card, grab the phone outright and then signed up to Virgin for £18 a month (40GB data (which rolls over month on month so currently at 78GB), unlimited calls and texts). Saved a fortune and not stuck in a crappy 24 month contract But how much did you pay for the phone? you're paying for that too. I know you can sell it on etc but Ive found sometimes its actually cheaper on 24 month contracts than buying outright and monthly sim cost. This is obviously on a brand new phone.

Looking at these prices, it still makes financial sense. £63 per month, 24 month contract plus £10 up front (according to the ad) = £1522 or £869 over 18 months = £48 per month Virgin SIM Only £18 per month (or if you don't need that much data, they do 6GB for £10) Total Monthly = £64 Total amount over 18 months = £1193 Basically pay £1 more per month but be done 6 months early and save yourself £329. Then sell the phone and start again or just keep everything and only pay £18 a month. Or you could go over 24 months, pay £10 less a month and be £220 better off at the end. Plus you can opt out at any time by selling the phone (although the best SIM only deals do have 12 month contract) and it's not really any additional risk as phone contracts are just credit agreements anyway but with additional interest.

All depends on the prices you can get. Ive worked out that a 24 month contract with the Pixel 3 is cheaper than buying out right and sim only. Although I didnt do much searching....

The latest evidence is in the transcript for its event this week in New York City. “Android” wasn’t said a single time during the Made by Google 2018 keynote. It marks the first time ever that Google has held a public-facing hardware event like this — since the introduction of the operating system in 2008 — without at least mentioning it by name. Going, going… This isn’t the first we’ve seen of the Android brand slipping away. Google’s most important apps have also seen the Android name disappear over the last couple years. Android Pay was rebranded to Google Pay. “Android Messages” was renamed to just “Messages” on the Play Store sometime in the last several months (although it retains the Android name on the web). Google’s wearable OS Android Wear was rebranded to Wear OS. That’s not to mention all the brands and products that Google has introduced in the last couple years that have left behind any mention of the OS, often in favour of the Google moniker itself. “Google One,” for its all-in-one cloud storage offering. “Google Tasks,” for its new task manager app. “Google Allo” and “Google Duo” for its latest attempts at Android messaging and video calling, respectively. In my home town the cheapest house is around £230k and renting is about £900 per month. My wages dont cover a mortgage or rent! Well they probably could but then I couldn't pay the bills. Moving out is only doable on a high wage or two people living together..... Must sort one of them out....
