junz Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Hi, I am trying to customise the Dock so that certain applications are listed on the Dock. I have tried customising the Dock via profile manager but it does not seem like the changes have applied to the Macs. Does anyone have another method of doing this?
3s-gtech Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 It will work in PM if you've set it up right and the profiles are pushing correctly. If a profile push sticks, it can seemingly stop settings from going out so check in PM. I have it working, but sometimes no settings apply because PM is pretty shonky really. Restarting the server usually sorts it for a bit.
Mrpower Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I agree that PM can be a little temperamental at times. I have managed this by creating a device group called student Macs and in the dock profile I have prefaced my applications code as "//Applications/Safari.app" minus the speech marks. Also I added them to dock items not dock apps. So far I haven't tried dock apps. 1
