Teamviewer Access to my Workstation; Then Remote desktop to my servers..

Im running a windows 2012 Vanilla system. Up to now been using 'Teamviewer Free' to access to my workstation then I remote desktop to my servers..

 

BUT TV is now blocking me out.. ARGGG

 

I have been told RM Access will help 'Even though we are vanilla'.

 

Is it worth me just buying a TV licence...?

 

How pricey is RM Access?

What ISP are you with? Do they not offer a VPN?

Some County Internet suppliers do offer VPN, HGfL used to which was a Cisco as they had Cisco Firewalls at site. This was back in 2009 however but if you have a county supplied Internet may be worth an ask.

You could just setup your own VPN internally and have your provider forward the ports. I started with openvpn installed on a virtual machine on my workstation which worked great for a few users, and it is free.

OpenVPN is quite decent, you can also get a Virtual appliance but it is only free for 2 users.

 

I used to use it at home till I got a couple of second hand Cisco ASAs and now use them for VPN and Firewall.

You could use ZeroTier on your home PC and workstation, RDP into workstation then RDP into servers. You could run ZT on your servers for direct access from your home PC but that is probably additional complexity that isn't worth it for this task. ZT uses a port 443 tunnel so no firewall config needed.
