detjo Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Used to use Synel Industries door access system in a previous school, which also had their fire alarm link .. so as soon as the fire alarm went off it would print a roll call in the admin office. Does anyone know of an alternative setup? I’m only looking for a way to link the fire alarm to a server (somehow) to have it auto print who’s on site
MatthewL Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Paxton Net2 has this facility as I am off to reconfigure a site of mine next week following some network changes. 1
Disease Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Paxton Net2 has this facility as I am off to reconfigure a site of mine next week following some network changes. Is that an add on or built in as we have net2 here and would be interested in how to set this up? Thanks
MatthewL Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Believe its done in the configuration utility, drop a reminder in here this time next week and I will have a better understanding and can give you some guidance then. 1
andy_b Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Pretty much covered here: https://www.paxtonaccess.ae/docs/Application%20Notes/AN1031-AE.pdf Just need to wire ACU to fire panel. Configure Net2 software and setup. 1
Disease Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 All our ACUs are linked to the Alarms so they release when the fire alarm is triggered, thanks for the doc, will take a look.
detjo Posted July 21, 2018 Author Posted July 21, 2018 Thanks all. Will have a look at these [emoji1360]
Katy Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 We have one of our ACUs wired into a fire relay (this is different to the fire relays which you wire the mag lock through, it's connecting to a sensor on the ACU). Never tried using ours for roll calls, problem we have is there's no "fob to exit" so it won't know who has left, and coming into the building if there's a group of people the first person will hold the door for the rest, who therefore don't fob in.
GTX Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Katy, Shame you dont have exit ones. You could enable anti passback!
Katy Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Katy, Shame you dont have exit ones. You could enable anti passback! Pupils don't have cards/fobs (they use a code) so that'd stop it... plus the extra £120 or so to have a reader instead of an exit button
thebyronic Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 (edited) +1 For Paxton Net2! Very reliable here, had a few issues with setting the printers up on the server initially, but has been great since! And yes, have a relay connected to one ACU. Also have a relay attached to all the maglocks too. Just wish all the staff would make sure they sign in/out all the time! -_- Edited July 28, 2018 by thebyronic

We have all doors set to register users onsite for roll call and exit ones for when they leave to take them off. Of course not everyone swipes to exit when they leave. Is there a way to set all users off-site at midnight as we have security check and lock the building nightly?

I spoke to Paxton support and the system will do it after 72 hours of inactivity, but this is built in and not configurable. I have requested this as a new feature to either make the time configurable or set an action to run at X time to move all users to Outside World, let's see what happens
