DeGrimmy Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Hi all, We've had a small number of PCs today that, when opening Photoshop CS5, flag the license as not valid. It'll still say it's invalid after re-entering the correct license key manually. We have a site wide license for up to 500 PCs, and we're fairly sure we're not over that amount. I'm trying a re-image on a couple of PCs to see if that works. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks in advance!
wakka9876 Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 I can confirm we're having the same issue. Volume license randomly stopped working across the school roughly midday yesterday. After going through the standard customer care chat channels, they created a ticket to figure out why it has expired so it sounds from his responses that it's a problem at their end. I'll respond when I hear more from them 1
DeGrimmy Posted June 27, 2018 Author Posted June 27, 2018 Thanks Wakka - We haven't yet contacted Adobe, but the re-image seems to have kicked those PCs back into gear. However, it's now cropping up in other places around the school. It seems strange that some PCs are affected whilst others aren't, we've been trying it on our PCs in our office and we haven't once had the same issue. I'll get in contact with Adobe as well.

I'll respond when I hear more from them Adobe confirmed last week that it's a problem on their end, and told us it was fixed on Monday. However, we're still seeing the problem on those PCs with no trial period remaining. Are you still seeing the issue occurring? We've found that uninstalling and reinstalling the CS5 suite doesn't help, and the only way to get them going again is to completely re-image. 1
wakka9876 Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Yeah we're still having the same issue, I'm currently imaging a test machine with an 1803 build (which previously had the license error), I'll let you know how it goes as uninstalling/reinstalling didn't work for us either. I can only guess it's either cached that key as invalid or saved it locally as invalid somewhere
Bagpuss66 Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Same problem here, we purchased the product 8 years ago. As we have 500 computers we can't afford to switch to Adobe Cloud! 1
wakka9876 Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Reimaging worked for me, only have a handful to redo thankfully. Thanks for the heads up - saved me an hour long wait in their chat being bounced from person to person

We are re-imaging the computers in the summer so we will fix them then.
