Bagpuss66 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 We are trying to stop students using F12 to access the DOM explorer, obviously they cant change a website but we get staff asking us to stop the students doing it during lessons. Any suggestions ?
Steve21 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Disable all developer tools if you mean the normal ones Steve
JJonas Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 It's a classroom management issue they are off task. Get the teachers to apply the appropriate sanction. 2

Yup, Unless you can find a GPO to stop them staring out the window or set Impero to stop them spinning the chairs then you may as well just hope that the teacher can keep the kids on task!.
Meldrew Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 We had a similar thing - students using dev tools to change the online homework system to show that they didn't have any homework. My answer - CTRL-F5. Meldrew
3s-gtech Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 We disabled the tools in IE using GP, then used some Javascript on our own sites to disable right-click (for Inspect Element) - the combination of the two stopped a lot of 'they've hacked the website!' nonsense.
AJWhite1970 Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 You can install SharpKeys and either turn F12 off completely or map it to another function. Works really well SharpKeys 3.0 | randyrants.com 1
