Dos_Box Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Fasthosts' dedicated servers go titsup | The Register
contink Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 I thought the site was moving away from those quick change con artists?
Geoff Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 I recommend UKFSN if your looking for a new host. UK Free Software Network

Dos_Box Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 CLEO May also be a hosting option. I'm waiting on them getting back to me.
Geoff Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 CLEO May also be a hosting option. I'm waiting on them getting back to me. I'm confused, I thought you wanted better hosting that fasthosts?
contink Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Easily? Oh dear... your jokes just suck Gatt... :D LOL
CSNM-Carl Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Apparently it's a core switch failure, nice to see Fasthosts have redundancy.
Michael Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 I can confirm it's just dedicated servers that suffered downtime. I use Fasthosts to host my website, but on their Windows Business service. I've suffered no downtime touchwood Glad to see Edugeek back up and running!
Gatt Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Oh dear... your jokes just suck Gatt... :D LOL bad experience?
Dos_Box Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 I'm confused, I thought you wanted better hosting that fasthosts? It will be in the CLEO core at Lancaster, right on the backbone, not in Preston
jcollings Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 It will be in the CLEO core at Lancaster, right on the backbone, not in Preston That'll be the place where they make random changes without telling you then?
ZeroHour Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Apparently it's a core switch failure, nice to see Fasthosts have redundancy. Thats what *they* say but I struggle to believe anything that comes out of that companies mouth.
john Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Why not use our good friends CS New Media? I'm sure Carl would look after us well, I've had EXCELLENT service from him with my fiasco with Easyspace and moving a domain from them, replys from Carl at 1am are common which is great as I'm often working them.

Recently moved hosts to CS New Media too and it's another big thumbs-up from me... Carl is super-helpful and the speed increase on the site over Streamline is superb. Very nice Plesk control panel too...
bizzel Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I'm also hosting with them and I've had nothing but great service so far. My only regret was that I missed the Edugeek offer.
contink Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Ok... I think today is the fourth or fifth outage I've experienced now in the last week... Are you guys thinking about a server move and a request for a refund yet?
