Is it me or are components and PC's hugely expensive at the moment?

 

 

I mean like double what I was paying a month or two back ??

.... Well yes, PC builders have been moaning for about a year now (Me included)

 

RAM prices have doubled due to a worldwide RAM shortage, my RAM is worth £120 more than when i brought it last year!

 

And GPUs have increased due to mining, but they seem to finally be on the way back down now!

CPUs are great value at the moment, especially for mid range models. Motherboards are reasonable. SSDs have stabilised a bit. RAM is mental, and GPUs have been vastly elevated for quite some time. I've been wanting to replace my dying/underpowered 6870 1GB for ages - in the end I bought a cheap 6950 2GB to tide me over as they're rubbish for mining (so prices never went up). While new prices have certainly dropped now, an RX 580 8GB (for example) is still over £100 more than an RX 480 8GB at launch.

The RAM I purchased in January 2016 has almost tripled in value and is now £483.31 more expensive.

 

I bet we won't have RAM that cheap again until DDR5 is mainstream.

Yeah. I was paying £120 for cheap Zoostorm Pentium PCs in March... they're now £220 ex VAT !!!!!!
