DT use Solidworks here. They used to use PTC Pro/DESKTOP (is that what has become Creo?) several years ago, but much prefer Solidworks and cite its use in industry as a reason for going with it.

Creo was inconsistent and tough to use. My experience said solid works as I used that and solid edge in Uni. But Auodesk is free for education and you can use 1 license to install on 100 pcs.

We moved from Solidworks to Autodesk around 3 years ago because of the free licensing and DT love it.

 

From IT point of view, it just works, no issue at all
