We need to do digital signage but only have power can what the quickest way of getting digital signage Chomebit, Pi or HDMI dongle. We used to have a laptop direct connected but the reception desk has been moved and the the cat 6 link cannot be re installed so it has to be wireless. We have a Sophos UTM.

What are you using to run your Digital signage?

Is it just a powerpoint, or is it something like XiBo,

We use XiBo here and our client devices are the Intel Computestick running windows 10 over wireless. WE have impero installed on them to be able to remote on if any extra changes need to be made but we do not have them connected to the domain.

If you want something really simple, ShowPoint which just grabs the newest PPT out of a folder.

+1 for this if you want something basic that Admin staff will know how to update.

We publish a Google Slides doc to a url and then serve this to a Raspberry Pi, which runs wirelessly. Simple, as with ShowPoint, and familiar to the staff that need to edit the presentation, plus updates automatically when the source file is edited. We just set the Pi to run the url of the published file in startup so even if power dies to the local screen / pi, it auto-heals when power is restored.
