April Fool’s Day is being cancelled in 2018 thanks to the date of Easter.

 

This year Easter Sunday will fall on the usual day of April Fool’s Day, April 1, and the change to the calendar has been made to avoid a clash.

 

April 2 will also be a holy bank holiday thanks to Easter Monday meaning the traditional day of pranks couldn’t have been held until April 3 this year...

 

So we can all relax today.

EXCITING NEWS! As you may recall,Eurostarhas recently launched a new train line which will take passengers in under 4 hours direct from London to Amsterdam and Rotterdam. For the keen cyclists among our readers (and we know there are quite a few!), we are proud to announce the grand opening today, ‪Sunday 1 April‬, of the “North Sea Nipper”, the world’s first underwater bike tunnel!

 

At an impressive 222 miles (334km) long, the Nipper (so-called as cyclists can just “nip” across to Amsterdam on two wheels in a mere 5.5 hours (average journey time, depending on pedal speed and individual fitness level) will connect the British and Dutch capitals directly by an underwater link for the very first time.

 

Boredom during the journey will be prevented by the transparent, reinforced glass of the tunnel, through which cyclists can enjoy watching the sea-life. Nonetheless, they should keep their wits about them, as they will of course need to remember to switch from the left-hand to the right-hand lane halfway to the Netherlands. Goede reis!
