This happens if we print via Adobe PDF HP PCL 5 universal V 5.9.0 Sharp PCL6 It does not happen if we print via Microsoft PDF. It does not happen if i paste in italics or bold text from another document BoX You will notice that the header is still there but it’s printed it white, effectively appearing blank... I would need a full step by step replication so I have something to trace, thanks 1

Our SENCO needs evidence of extra time in mock exams so we need a way to identify what work has been done in extra time. Instead of using colour print outs, we could use bold or italic.

I see, problem is some text might need to be bold or in italics so changing the colour was the best option for extra time as it’s what most people asked for when the idea was floated around months ago.

I believe I have sorted out the issue and a fix will be issued on Sunday. 1

Also, if you now disable the quick formatting panel it will also remove the TextControl ‘MouseUp’ and ‘MouseMove’ event handlers that would be doing background jobs that are not required. · ADDED: Added new button called ‘Margins (page)’ to allow you to adjust margins for all pages. This can be disabled and probably would be advisable to do so, in an exam environment, if you print the header and footers. · ADDED: You can now set the following config options to set the default page margins for a text document. If no options are set the default is 20. If you wish to change them, set the following options ‘Document_Paper_Margin_Top’, ‘Document_Paper_Margin_Bottom’, ‘Document_Paper_Margin_Left’ and ‘Document_Paper_Margin_Right’. · ADDED: When you now disable a ribbon button/combobox in the config, it will now hide the button instead of disabling it. AT the moment button placement is not dynamic so hidden buttons will still hold their positions. A new dynamic ribbon is being built and tested to see if it will make it to EWP long term. Please say it aint so.. V2.4.2.2 is very old and has issues, you should really be using v2.6.8.0 or newer v3.2.5.0

It's always been that the kid just didn't do any work at all For mocks we just print the cover sheet and the blank script and the it's for teachers/hods to chase up. The secret ingredient is exam invigilators that pay attention. That way at the end of the exam you can say "X has a blank sheet.. Did they actually do anything?" and get a definitive answer. 1

The trick is exam invigilators that pay attention. That way at the end of the exam you can say "X has a blank sheet.. Did they actually do anything?" and get a definitive answer. What you will also find is with the previous version history you have a path of what they did every minute of the exam. You can she a pattern of the way they worked. We had one where they started to write go half way through them started to retract to the point it was blank. At least we had a paper trail, so to speak, to build a picture of what they were doing. That another beauty to EWP and what it can do.

With respect (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong) you cannot submit anything other than the final script. So if they've written a fifty page essay, got frustrated, and deleted it all, you can't submit the version before they deleted it? Same as if a kid gets frustrated and defaces/tears up their physical paper. The backups should only be used for recovery in the event of a system failure (power dies, etc) Granted, perhaps that's not really relevant for the mocks. I guess it depends on whether the school's focus is towards the red-tape side ("This is what your exam will be like. No leeway.") or the review-and-advise side ("Let's see what how well you do and we'll pick up on what you didn't quite manage") We try to strike a middle-balance here but I do lean towards "If the pupil [hands in] a blank script, that's what I have to go off." My case was in relation to mocks not finals but I suppose if the students are happy to sign a blank page then that is what gets submitted. Or where ever you pointed the backup path in the config file. 1

Then you can revert back to previous versions and find out what went wrong.? I don’t see why not, you have to legislate for potential technical issues if the pupil suggests it wasn’t there fault. It a bit more straight forward with pen and paper. [emoji1]

That's a lot of 'doing things wrong' stringed together, but we get it every now and again with Word/etc so I could imagine it happening with any software.
