Licensing for BBC News streaming in reception

Morning all,

 

The powers that be are asking me what is needed in terms of licensing for showing a BBC news feed as part of our signage in reception. This would be shown to the staff, students and public.

 

I've tried searching and found conflicting info, from just a normal TV license to PRS and PPL, to ERA and ERA+.

 

Anyone do this and know what licencing is actually needed?

As far as I'm aware it is no different to showing BBC news 24 on a TV. Just a TV licence for the site should suffice.

Surely as the BBC is a public service and you have a licence you can display in your premises.

Maybe wrong buts that the way i see it as long as your not rebroadcasting their content.

Seems quite clear from the JISC link to me:

 

"TV licence and a PRS and PPL licence to show free-to-view television channels in public spaces."
