I bought a GPD WIN, I mainly bought it to play world of warcraft at my girlfriends house, but now we have moved over to playing overwatch, so its pretty pointless now. I do still use it to browse reddit and stuff though XD

I once brought a windows phone... having already had one before! I thought it had to have improved but I was sooo wrong

i still prefer window phone 8.1 to android/ios it just works if there were still apps for it id still be on it

 

bought all sorts over the years got a lightsabre in the spare room and all sorts off cheap tat over the years. games wise steep diddnt really enjoy the beta that much (also diddnt hate it) still bought the full game (granted about £20)

Lowest settings, and a xbox 360 game controller mod, the mod makes it so that the a,b,x,y buttons are abilities and you can change what abilities pop up by using the trigger buttons. I think i set left shoulder button to target the nearest enemy, so its not to bad to be honest (Y)

My wife works with SEN kids and they have something called chewelry - stuff you can chew that you wear around your neck. No idea whether that would fulfill your need to chew, or be suitable, but I thought it was an interesting portmanteau!

 

I'll look into this - I have a habit of nibbling the corner of my ID card hanging on my (shiny new Edugeek) Lanyard, so it's worth a look. I bought a 'worry stone' in a gem shop and hung it from a pendant - that was fine for a while but I tended to chew the chain lol. I chipped a tooth. I already grind my teeth lol. My poor teeth go through the ringer.

I bought an old Sun Fire T2000 server off eBay for about £150 around a year and a half ago, because I wanted to fiddle with a SPARC processor. Trouble is, being an old T1 processor it's got 8 cores but only one FPU between the lot, so it's fine for mainly integer operations but rubbish performance (for its spec) with anything floating-point related. Oh well... it's still great for all the enterprise-level database and middleware applications I need to run my house with...

Apparently digital cameras like my GH4 has a 29m 59s limit. Kind of ridiculous considering the USA don't have any limit.

That's why a lot of cheap action cameras and DSLR's split their videos into 30m chunks, but it's not like it's difficult to join the video back together...

I bought a camera for my microscope but it has to much zoom. A different reduction lens is almost the same price as the camera and lens cost me.

A looong time ago, I bought for work a Revox PR99, which in its time was a serious bit of kit. Reel - to reel running at 15" / sec, real time counter, easy to edit on. Weighed a tonne, with three huge motors and a cast aluminium frame. Cost £thousands.

 

Mini-disk came out within a year, and affordable editing on a PC shortly after.

30 min limit is and EU importing classification thing, usually easy to get around with a firmware tweak.

Yep done this, brought one of those very expensive Yamaha YSp surround bars. After using it twice i decided it would really annoy the neighbors so it now collects dust behind the tv.

Brought a surround sound headset instead.

Oh I'm not binning it as it will useful within Scouting when we need to record things. Not letting them loose with my DLSR!

I'll have to add in my first ever CD burner. In the days before they came with buffer underrun technologies it burnt at a whole x4 speed and I must have spent several times as much on failed disks than on successful ones.

If it wasn't buffer underruns it was Win98 crashing that did them in!

Mine is a lightscribe, but I've never used that feature. In my case, it wasn't a waste of money, as my ancient PC only had a DVD reader and the portable unit has been a godsend at two schools and one stint in private enterprise. When I upgraded my box, it now has a DVD writer, but I've still got the old one just in case.
