Hi there,

I have been trying for days on end to get MDT to work with some old HP 655 laptops we have. I've used MDT for a couple of years now so understand it's workings quite well, but this issue has stumped me! I am trying to deploy Windows 7 x64. When I PXE boot, I get a wizard error... "A connection to the deployment share (deployment_share) could not be made. The following networking device did not have a driver installed' PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV8168&SUBSYS_1885103C&REV_07". I have tried:

- ensuring the correct LAN driver is imported into the correct deployment workbench folder

- updated the deployment share and replaced the image in WDS

- compared LAN driver IDs with those of a working HP 655

- installed a fresh version of Windows 7 x64 on a HP 655 and installed the same driver manually, which works.

- for fun I've also tried importing numerous other drivers, which also didn't work.

- much Googling and head scratching.

I am very close to giving in and just manually installing and updating the laptops...but there are 10 of them and the amount of effort that would take isn't very appealing!

I should point out I have some HP 635's too and MDT works fine on those!

Many thanks for any suggestions,

Scott

id check that you have the correct driver installed in MDT as there might be a slight revision that the driver you have for the HP635 isnt the correct one.

iirc i think HP might do an SCCM/MDT network driver pack as i believe the driver version for winpe can be slightly different with network drivers.

are you using any selection profiles for creating the boot packages?
