caffrey Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Thought I'd start a new thread for 2018 I'll start with this :-
elsiegee40 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Where are you located @caffrey and @ticker?
caffrey Posted January 18, 2018 Author Posted January 18, 2018 Where are you located @caffrey and @ticker? Sorry , North East Teesside area 1
the_one_that_cant Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Can confirm Middlesbrough got a good bit of snow. Caused havoc with traffic around the area. I have even packed my wellies in the car.
6Foot2 Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 It is currently making very weak efforts to snow. Sadly, it will not settle. I could do with some snow days with the things happening in the coming week.
6Foot2 Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Hail! We have hail. I can see from the clouds that this will be a very brief interlude.
elsiegee40 Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Hmmm. Weather forecast for tomorrow morning involves 3cm of snow centred on west Kent. I have just been out to put plastic sheets over the car windscreens to make the morning getaway easier.
6Foot2 Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 (edited) Hmmm. Weather forecast for tomorrow morning involves 3cm of snow centred on west Kent. I have just been out to put plastic sheets over the car windscreens to make the morning getaway easier. I have been seeing a lot of musings on the prospects for snow. Some are predicting heavy snowfall in our area, but more credible forecasts seem to be suggesting a cold start with, possibly, a little snow. Waiting for the Countryfile forecast for a better idea about what might happen tomorrow, and in the coming week (Just before 7:30, BBC 1) Edit: Just saw the forecast. Possibly some snow in our area on Friday, but we will have to wait for more detail. Earlier in the week: For our area again possibly a little snow (nothing to worry about) The cold is the bigger story here. Edited February 4, 2018 by 6Foot2 1

It only takes one snowflake for chaos and three to stop the trains, so we're assuming the worst for an hour or two tomorrow. It will probably all be gone by lunchtime ... assuming it even turns up in the first place. 1
Dos_Box Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 We have a chance of snow in Preston on Tuesday, but it's going to be very nippy up to the end of the week. Down to -4 midweek.
hardtailstar Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Had snow on and off today in my area of Kent. Snow forecast all overnight.

hardtailstar Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Interesting. None at all here today It's not laying, just falling from the sky. 1
XiJ Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 In South Yorkshire we’ve missed most of the decent snow. Had a little covering one Sunday which was fun to walk the dog in - but gone by the morning. The best was about 6 years ago where we measured it feet. That was good fun. Hoping for some more this week - Tuesday and Thursday look the days so far
elsiegee40 Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 The youngsters next door are wildly excited, but they are aged 6 and 3 You can see that it’s actually snowing though ... and my car is normally dark blue, not white
6Foot2 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 We have snow. At the current rate, it won't settle.
Ksavage413 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 About 50 seconds of snow, followed by intensely bright sunshine
6Foot2 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 It snowed in Essex, apparently: Link: [Twitter Picture Tweet] 1
elsiegee40 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 It snowed a little more in Kent, but I have cleared my car windscreen already
AJWhite1970 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 A light dusting up on the hill I live at overnight but nothing once I'd reached civilization back down with the valley dwellers... I'm meant to be refereeing today and tomorrow, fields looked frozen solid as I went past so hoping it's PP'd until after half term
6Foot2 Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 We have icy snow here. Not flakes but like small, very white, plastic pellets (not hail either) The coverage is pretty good, but not enough to give an all-over covering.
