UPS Advice

Hello,

Im looking at putting a small ups in a wall mount 550 12 U Cab

1 HP 48 1920s

1 HP 24 1920s POE (first 12 POE+)

1 Sophos XG

 

The 2 i have been looking at are:

APC Power-Saving Back-UPS 700VA, 230V, BS1363Â-ÂAPCÂ-ÂUnited Kingdom

 

APC Smart-UPS SC 450VA 230V - 1U Rackmount/TowerÂ-ÂAPCÂ-ÂUnited Kingdom

 

Obviously there is a price difference will they both offer the protection i'm after but just in different form factors. Im looking for around 5 minutes runtime in a power outage, protections against spikes surges and brownouts etc.

 

Or can someone recommend something else that is not bank breaking it is a for a primary school.

They're around 10cm shallower than the APC one which is very useful as some of our cabinets are very shallow!

Be careful with this one as a lot of the ones with sockets like that, not all are connected to the UPS battery, some are just for surge protection only.

just 4 are connected to the battery which is all i need, i'm just trying to work out if the 4 sockets will offer protection against both brownouts and surges/spikes. As it only says power outages, spikes and surges.

I've just got a quote on Riello devices but never heard of them before-

What is the management/config like compared...?

I basically just need to know I can program auto-shutdown etc...

It depends on the l you're looking at but essentially yes, they have the same interoperability as other vendors. Can I ask who at Riello you got the quote from?

I got two quotes from current resellers in fact- not Riello directly.

Both a lot less than the equivalent APC which I'm used to, which is great, but still unknown....

I know Riello, got a 60K beast in our Server Room its been grand, @Domino bought it and it just works.
