1709? Business as normal

I sympathise with all having had my Dell T5500 rendered to a heavy brick as a result of 1709 update. Restoring failed resulting in the same mess as with the upgrade. Sadly I have little more faith in going Apple - perhaps the jump to Ubuntu or Mint is one step closer as every update in the last few years (often now forced) has been a complete mare.
