compsue Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 We are unable to add printers on PC's with Windows 10, however we are able to add them on Windows 7. Can anyone help please? Error code is:
NatDevine Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 My first thought is that this is a driver problem. Does it use a specific driver or a generic one? If it's a specific one, you could try making a second printer share with a generic print driver and seeing if that helps? 1
sted Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 being a ricoh printer it may be that its an unsigned driver as i think all theyre drivers are unsigned and windows 10 dosent really like that it can be made to work but iirc depends how you install them
localzuk Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 I'd suggest installing the V4 PCL Universal Driver - it is specifically designed for Windows 10 AFAIK.

sted Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 have you tried another brand of printer just add any old crud as a test the printer dosent need to exist so you could just share out a generic text only printer pointed to a dead ip for testing maybe see if its that printer or all printers

We can print to the brother ones in the IT Suite.

First, I would like to tell you that I am not big on computers and gadgets, and that's basically why I'm here. I have this device, let's call it a type of printer, but it won't get recognised by my laptop. I know that the printer is working, because it perfectly works with my friend's computer, but when I plug it in on mine, nothing happens. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you so much!

Has your friend got a different operating system to you? I'd say it is a driver issue.

Here is the gadget I am using: Dymo LabelWriter 450 It makes labels, it works, and the process should be the same as installing printers, right? dereklotts Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 (edited) Hi everybody, I googled and this is what I found, hope it will be useful: Close the DYMO Label Software Disconnect both plugs from the back of your Dymo LabelWriter (do not reconnect) Press and hold the “Windows” button on the keyboard and press the letter "R"The “Run” window appears Copy and paste the following into the window: %UserProfile%/AppData/Local and click OK Remove the folders “Dymo” and "Sanford, _L.P" Remove all Dymo printers from Control Panel -> Devices and Printers Remove Dymo Label Software from the computer via the Control Panel Press and hold the “Windows” button on the keyboard and press the letter "R" The “Run” window appears and you enter: "regedit" Go to: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER” -> “Software” -> and delete the entire DYMO folder Then “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” -> “Software” -> and delete the entire DYMO folder Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Print \ Printers and remove the DYMO printer you are using If there are multiple DYMO printers, remove them all Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Print \ Monitors and delete all folders starting with DYMOGo to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Print \ Environments \ Windows NT x86 \ Drivers \ Version-3 and remove the printer you are using If there are multiple DYMO printers, remove them all Restart the computer (important!) Download the latest version of Dymo Label Software Start the installation by clicking on it with your right mouse button and selecting "Open as administrator" At the end of the installation, connect the LabelWriter directly to the computerWait until the drivers have been installed successfully Start the DYMO Label Software Is the software still not working? Then disconnect the DYMO LabelWriter, perform steps 7 + 18 and connect the DYMO LabelWriter to a USB port on the back. So not at the front or via a USB HUB.
