Shares and gp suddenly not working

Hi. I have two windows 8.1 machines suddenly not accepting group policy or mapping shares. I can ping external websites and ping the server. I'm at my wits end. Everything was fine until yesterday and now this. Any help available? So far I have removed and rejoined domain, deleted dns and dhcp records and uninstalled and reinstalled network adapter.

 

Gpupdate brings back failed due to lack of network connectivity to a domain controller.

so everything but those pcs is fine?

 

i assume they have correct ip/dns etc?

 

try setting the amount of time the pc waits for the network at startup higher in group policy

computer config\admin templates\system\group policy\specify startup policy processing wait time and set it to enabled and 120. i suspect they are just starting up too fast and giving up waiting for the network too soon as a result

try and browse to the UNC path of the mapped drive and see if you can connect, also read the event logs it'll say why it couldn't.

 

Sometimes connectivity issues like not having fast start on the Network switch means that the PC doesn't have a proper network connection whilst booting (and maybe logon) but by the time you get to it, it does.

 

You can disable fast login for testing.

What time is on them?

The PC time\date is different to the DC time. Remember to check the date also.

Could possibly be an offline files issue, try disabling and see if issue persists.
