I am afraid you can only have your a2c keys installed on one machine, so if you go onto a laptop that will me the machine that has to do the synchronisation all the time.

@BKGarry beat me to it. How about remote desktop to your normal work desktop? That way your exams data does not have to reside on a portable device that could get lost etc.

How do I get a second key if I want the laptop setup as spare?

I not doing the download I just looking to have a backup for the exams offices for when I am on Holiday.

Also what needs to be backed up for moving to Windows 10?

I think as far as moving computers you can get the exam boards to reissue a new certificate but that invalidates the old one.

I suspect the point is you don't have a spare copy. But keep the exam officers secure site logins safe.. That's what we have ended up doing.

You can get a new set of keys from exam boards at any time. So if you want to have two machines with the ability to download results, if you do two installs from scratch, download keys from each board and install the same keys on both machines, both should work.

What you can't do, is install one, then later get another set of keys and install another - the new keys will replace the old ones.
