Under our EES agreement Staff have the right to buy Office for a nominal charge (£9.95) but this only applies to staff.

Does anyone know whether this can be extended to students under the EES agreement, or does that add a ridiculous cost or jump up to a new agreement level?

You have to have paid for Office with EES for it to be downloadable via Office 365. Basically, the 2 link together to allow for licenses to be issued.

You would need to buy student licenses for pupils to do this, as the licenses under normal OVS-ES are for internal devices and staff only. Not for pupils.

I think Office 365 can be had free with ees - but isn't that the online versions of office only?

I'm getting confused now - with our EES we have Windows/Office etc with HUP for Staff - and we're entitled to the Office 365 free susbscription - but we'd have to pay the higher tier to allow Students the desktop apps?

That doesn't have Access - which is one of the most wanted parts!

EES gives you access to Office 365 Pro Plus for students (desktop). That's what we had, till it expired last month (and renewing it was mind-bending as it wasn't auto-renewed with EES).

i dont think you have to pay to get students free office no in my licensing onsole i just have unlimited office pro plus (cant remember the exact wording) for staff and students and assign lics as needed

as to access ive never notices i havnt used that really since windows 3.1/95 days

I'm guessing I'll have to apply for Office 365 and add it to our OVS agreement to enable this - all I can see in the License Summary is 250 of O365 ProPlus for Students - which we've never setup. And 250 is far too few as well.

i dont know if things have changed for you, but i called the guys i got our ees from and asked if i could activate my office 365 entitlement and they sent me umpteen hundred faculty/student licence key to activate on the o365 portal?

all ive ever done to get it is go to the link i posted earlier fill in an email address and follow the prompts iirc it can take a few days and if it comes back saying we cant verify you are a school (or words to that effect) use the office 365s onmicrosoft.com address instead of school.somewher.sch (or whatever your email is) for me its also auto renewed ive never needed to think about it again either.

It looks like I'll have to do this - I haven't got an Office 365 admin login as we've never used it (We're G Suite here) so thats all I can see on the VLSC

I'll contact our OVS reseller and see what I need to do - we're staying with G Suite but would like to let students get Office for home user like the staff can.

This is the reason to run Office 365 and G-Suite. You only need to deliver Office 365 Pro Plus through Office 365 and dont need all the other features. This will come in more when licensing changes with Microsoft 365 Education the new EES 2017 licensing.

I think another problem I have is that I trialled Office 365 a few years ago, so the domain .onmicrosoft.com is no longer available, and I can't sign in - nor reset the password! Its effectively a dead domain name now.

MS never make these things easy!

It’s says I can’t use our domain name, yet I can’t reset the admin password as it says the login (using the domain.onmicrosoft.com domain) is invalid, catch 22!

Same here had it for a few years now and renewing is a pain, took me months to get it on our agreement originally.

Try their support, they're usually pretty good really, especially with technical and setup stuff (had to sue them when I set mine up).

Had to sue them! That's a revealing typo, I didn't realise their support was that bad! ;-)

Oh man, I fail so bad at typing. I hate re-reading my posts! I have to proof read everything I do :(

I'm sure most people feel like suing MS after trying to work through their licensing rules....
