anyway - it is the same as trying to 'prove' to a fundamental religious person that their Holy Book is not the total and whole truth

i.e. there is no point in arguing with deeply held beliefs - especially if those beliefs go against widely held accepted facts

 

Debates on religion aside - It's interesting how Science is disproving some religious claims yet giving us more questions rather than answers. I think the mystery of science doesn't answer our own questions as a the human race and our demand for 'answers' as the human spirit wants. Maybe we've just not yet developed our emotional intelligence enough (despite what we think) to realise this yet.

Hughes, 64, had been performing stunts for decades, making long-distance jumps in a limousine and, in more recent years, riding in his own homemade rockets. In 2018, his rocket soared nearly 1,900 feet into the air, landing in the Mojave Desert.

 

Before that launch, Hughes told the Associated Press that he believed Earth is flat — or, in his words, "shaped like a Frisbee" — and that he wanted to fly into space to make sure.

 

Shuster, who did not attend Saturday’s launch, said the flat Earth argument helped drum up publicity and sponsors for Hughes, who made his rockets at his home in Apple Valley.

 

"I don’t think he believed it", Shuster said. "He did have some governmental conspiracy theories. But don’t confuse it with that flat Earth thing. That was a PR stunt we dreamed up".

That's because the GPS signals coming from those phones actually cancel out the most harmful parts of their WiFi, because to make the GPS go all the way up to the satellite correctly and not off to one side, the phone points its aerial into the sky rather than directly at other people.

 

Fixed WiFi points are hidden so don't have any GPS.

That's why you need to buy APs where you can switch off the flashing light. It's the radiation from the LED that's actually causing the problems inside their brain, gets in via the eyes.

I just got kicked out of a flat earth Facebook group because I asked if the 6 foot social distancing guideline had pushed anyone over the edge yet.

That joke makes no sense. If you spread out on a circle, you're always going to be getting further away from everyone, it doesn't matter where the edge is. If you're on a sphere, you can't spread out anything like as well because a) the thing will be smaller and b) you're just going to be getting closer to people from the other side all the time.

The other day I felt the need to conclusively "prove" this, by drawing an imaginary triangle on the surface of the earth and seeing if the angles would add up to over 180 degrees.

 

I then realised I shouldn't actually feel the need to prove this at all because it's retarded and it's not flat.

Believe it or not this actual, actual photo was for sale about 8 years back. Think it was a NASA auction and the starting bid was something ridiculous like $200. Every so often I wondered what a fantastic piece of mankind's history it would be, and how much it went for. Needless to say I would have LOVED to own this. Gotta go to a museum ofc for proper care and preservation, but they'd let me touch it sometimes hopefully.
