Dos_Box Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 With Christmas coming up I'm currently getting the kids Xmas pressies sorted out. One thing I do need to get is a wireless gaming headset for my son. He's a bit clumsy and forever snapping headphone wires (he goes though about two sets a year) and I have resorted to buying him cheap headphones. Just recently though, he has (whilst being 'in-between headphones) borrowed a bluetooth set of mine and has fallen in love with the concept of not having to worry about what he is doing in relation to wires. So I'm looking at getting him some wireless gaming headphones as his 'big' pressie, but don't want to break the bank. Any ideas what I can get up to say the value of £45-ish?

Steve21 Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 The problem is if you're talking phone/laptop most of those sort you linked above need a receiver plugged into the device, which if you're talking portable wise isn't going to be great. (Normally it's either USB dongle which wouldn't work for phone, or 3.5mm jack to box) Did you want mic too for pc gaming etc? Will have a nosy at a few of my usual gamingwares Steve

But still need better I think as the mics on those can be flaky.

Yeah, he's 11 and his sister is 13 so their tastes are changing, but this way I can get more things that will actually use and enjoy than silly big things that will be abandoned after a few months. His sister is getting a decent Bluetooth speaker

sted Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Ooooffff I love me a visit to RicherSounds! they just tend to be damaging to the wallet (wants a 4k tv but that needs a new amp as well /sigh) newer xbox controllers support bluetooth headsets as do phones and most laptops probably have bluetooth if not a sub dongles hardly a big problem so you should be able to get away with pretty much any bluetooth headset that seems like it will be comfortable (cant try it neither my elite or forza controllers are new enough i dont think and i dont think i even have a headset anymore but for testing purposes pretty much owt should do even if its an old hands free earpiece
