Cheap wireless gaming headset recommendations

I had an ultra cheapo Mpow bluetooth headset which worked OK on my phone but every time I tried to connect them to my PC I had issues with trying to enable both the audio and microphone simultaneously. When I configured it as a headset with mic enabled the audio quality went to low rate mono. I could get it working OK in stereo as headphones but not when combined with the mic.

 

Has anyone else experienced similar issues? I ended up binning the wireless in-ear ones as they were really heavy and uncomfortable but I always wondered if it was just that particular headset or I'd done something wrong when setting it up?

Unfortunately I bought my last TV from argos, so didn't get the full RicherSounds experience.... mmmmm.... the guys in the Preston shop are the best. Alan is da man.

 

yeah the york shop dragged myt tv to teh car park and even hung around while i rearranged the boot i forgot to empty so the tv would fit lol

They are what they are and the sound isn't terribly good (quite flat) but for an emergency pair my kids can use they are ideal for £12.

My experience is that as well as poorer sound quality, the cheaper ones don't seem to hold their charge as long. I have a pair like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Wireless-Bluetooth-Headphones-Cancelling/dp/B074KGDFSY (instantly cooler because DRAGONS!) that live on my desk for when I need 'em that need charging relatively regularly but the more expensive Afterglow set (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Afterglow-Universal-Wireless-Amplified-Headset/dp/B008U25YS80 I have under the TV for "big" gaming sessions seem to last for much longer between charges.

 

But given that the cheaper ones are so much cheaper I can't complain.

I think this may be one that I shall have to hang on until Black Friday for as these kind of things do seem to get quite a bit of discount on that day.

Still plenty of time after that to hunt around too.
