Output to a projector and two monitors

Hi

 

I know there are different ways to output to projectors and monitors but is there a 'best' way? I have a long classroom where the students at the back can't see the board. I currently have the computer connected using a splitter to the monitor and projector but we want to add another monitor further back so the students at the back can see what's on the board.

 

Can anyone offer advice on the best way to do this?

You could get a graphics card with 3 outputs, but this may cause confusion to staff.

 

The easiest way will be to get a 3 way splitter.

 

Some projectors do support a return VGA though, so you may be able to take a feed from the projector to the monitor.

If you have a graphics card installed with two outputs, use splitter and also other output on graphics card set so it duplicates

Many of our newer machines have VGA, HDMI, and display ports. We have made use of these in several areas of the school (via HDMI-> VGA, and Display Port -> VGA adaptors)

Best way is to daisy-chain the projectors to each other. The Epson projectors that we use for example have both and VGA input and VGA output so you can output from the projector to another device.

I would go the same way as Fazza, clone the monitor output to projector one, then use a VGA from the output of projector one into projector 2. Something we used for the first time only about 3 months ago. Works really well.

I agree, we do this in our hall if they want to do lessons with half or whole of a year group

Thanks everyone for the advice. We'd trying daisy-chaining from the projector and it hadn't work but just tested it again after your advice and realised it was a faulty monitor.

 

All sorted now!
