2nd / 3rd Line Service Desk Engineer - Southampton, Hampshire - £27-33k

Are you an experienced 2^nd / 3rd Line Engineer? Are you happy to join an established IT Managed Service Provider with a list of Education and Corporate Clients they provide overall Services, Solutions and Support to both in the UK. Then this may the next exciting challenge in your career.

The role;

 

 

• Based in the Southampton area you will be based in the office working within the Technical Support helpdesk team.
  
• To provide 2nd and 3rd line support for all customer services (internal and external)
  
• To ensure quality and timely delivery of all support services
  
• To provide support during project installations
  

 

• Utilise the Helpdesk System provided to manage all support tickets and tasks
  
• Ensure tickets phoned in by clients are logged on the helpdesk
  
• Manage your working time effectively
  
• Ensure monitoring alerts are investigated and where required logged on the Helpdesk
  
• Provide detailed and relevant information on a ticket before escalating
  
• Liaise with third party software and service providers where required
  
• Comply with ISO Procedures
  

 

Core Requirements: -

 

 

• Excellent all-round IT-technical knowledge.
  
• Windows Server 2003/2008r2/2012r2 installation and administration
  
• Active Directory design and administration including Group Policy
  
• Network hardware of LANs and WANs including servers, switches, firewalls routers etc. HP and Cisco.
  
• Advanced virtualisation (preferably Hyper-V)
  
• SAN and NAS technologies (HP preferred)
  
• Provide solid 1st to 3rd line support (desktop and infrastructure)
  
• Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
  
• Strong documentation and communication skills
  

 

Desirable:

 

• Terminal Services\Remote Desktop in 2003/2008r2/2012r2
  
• MS System Centre
  
• Automation in infrastructure management (Advanced PowerShell scripting)
  
• Good knowledge with SQL.
  
• Exchange Server & Office 365
