Which UTM ??

It's all a bit confusing really, hence I usually just go from advice from a supplier who apparently gets their info from Sophos

 

Interested to know more about this unsubstantiated rumour about Smoothwall, it seems to be a bit quiet over there - no news and no updates for a while either unless something big is coming

 

Our Sophos quote was about 7200 ex vat for 3 years for the 330

Out of curiosity what sort of pricing did you get on the Sophos just roughly if you can say? The "cheapest" one we had for our place was £19k for 3 years, if we wanted the full UTM package was about £25k

Every other firewall quote out there beat Sophos hands down for us, that's why I'm always so surprised when people say it's cheaper

We paid £21k for 5 UTMs with 3 year coverage.

 

Our SG430's were £5900 each for 3 year coverage.

 

So, whoever is quoting you is either ripping you off or their prices have gone crazy. We got ours through SoftCat.

Interesting The web protection part of our quote on it's own was over £7.5k for ours (Single box wise). Needless to say they didn't get our business haha

 

Will have to have a look when ours comes up for renewal and try a few other suppliers it seems!

I guess there was some truth in the rumours - just got this email :-

...I think the reporting is better for smoothwall..but I’d like to see ready made categories for all the social media stuff and mobile devices without having to do it yourself.
