PDQ Deploy

Hi

Does anyone use PDQ deploy to deploy Windows updates? I've been reading on their website that now they are cumulative packages you can use it to deploy Windows updates?

 

Also, has anyone purchased it via PO as apposed to credit card?

We did use it for rolling out Windows 10 Cumulative updates but then they only allowed the Enterprise version to roll out when we only have the pro version. But it worked very well, actually far better than WSUS. We have only been able to use a credit card to purchase.

if you dont want to pay for a product to deploy updates and you dont have or want to use wsus, then WSUS offline updater is an alternative which could be used and scripted to run on machines.

It's pretty easy to just grab the updates and create your own package.

PDQ Deploy has a package library that can be accessed depending if you have Pro or Enterprise. Enterprise has the whole library. I just get the latest updates and make my own package, it's very simple.

 

We paid on a CC.

We pay via Credit Card normally, but @bossman did mentioned a UK based reseller who I assume will accept PO.

PDQ themselves will accept payment via PO id you ask them too. Thats how we do it.

 

Also We have scrapped our WSUS server if Favour of using PDQ to deliver updates.

Have you guys installed on a server or desktop? I was thinking server then we can RDP to the server as its backed up etc.

VM server 2012r2 with 16GB RAM and 2 processors, seems happy with this!
