speckytecky Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Post installing IE7 on an admin PC we have had a problem trying to open PDF's out of Easymail with Adobe Acrobat Reader 8. Acrobat is not broken as it opens documents already in the directories. I suspect it's some sort of Easymail and IE7 interaction not working properly on this particular PC. Any thoughts anyone please?
Lithium Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Not sure if this will help you... I changed a whole set of security settings for Internet Zones in IE7 across the whole domain... So far, the only issues with that change are opening PDF's from the special magical Edexel mailbox that the exam lady here has. Once I added it to a Trusted Zone (which has low security settings), it would open no arguments.
bizzel Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Bumping an old thread here but this might be a solution. We found we had to enable caching of SSL pages before we could open any attachments from easymail. I've attached the registry file so you could run it on startup or put it into a GPO.SSLCaching.zip
Michael Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I would recommend you re-install Adobe Reader 8.1.2. If you're looking for the MSI you can follow a guide I've created here. By installing the latest version, 8.1.2, not only does this fix a few security issues it'll also re-create the file association which may be the source of the problem.
