How cheap can you get a gaming pc?

One of the teachers at work has a mac at home for their work, but would like to play some games, the mac is quite old and not up to it, and they only have an old windows laptop. The main game they are interested in at the moment is Planet Coaster. - requirements are here https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/planet-coaster/13269

 

A desktop pc is the way to go - they can get a monitor and keyboard / mouse for free, so only need to get the base unit. Here's the challenge - for less than £200!

 

I think refurb is the only slight chance of doing this, so it will already have the windows licence, otherwise this would take half the budget on its own. I may also have a spare 120gb ssd which they can have, which should help. Is it possible to get anything close to a gaming pc for that sort of money these days? They aren't expecting it to run at high end resolution, just to be playable.

Planet coaster is a heavily CPU bound game when you have lots of guests/scenery in a park. It's been fine for me on a 4590k/750ti but I haven't really tried a park with loads of guests/scenery.

 

A HP compaq 8300 (SFF though) with a 3rd gen i5 would set you back between £150-£200 on ebay however this then doesn't leave much for a graphics card.

Keep an eye on local gumtree, ebay and facebook listings, something will probably come up at a reasonable price!

Make @Tesla an offer for his - the graphics card will struggle a bit but it's a fair base for this and Thuban Phenoms aren't bad at all. Should be pretty cheap.

I bought my laptop from these, they are refurbished, but they are good.

Items in MorganComputers store on eBay ! - will need a graphics card though, as most seem to be ex-office based computers.
