This might be a good place to start: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/ You can pick the parts and they will tell you if they are compatible and the cheapest place to purchase the parts from.

We are moving towards HikCentral and our firmware version are: V3.4.90 build 160926 and V3.4.95 build 170626 I have a user with less access and they have the following options: Local: Log Search Local: Playback Local Manual Operation Local Video Export Remote: Log Search / Interrogate Wor... Remote: Two-way Audio Remote: Live view Remote: Manual Record Remote: Playback It could be a firmware thing. I'm not sure. I am just an end user, of this system.
-
I am assuming you are using the web version and not HikCentral. Have a look at the setting for that user. Configuration > User Management > highlight "User" and click Modify. I didn't set the permission on the account I use, but I have Local: Video Export / Local: Log Search ticked. Maybe they would help!

I have been directed to Crown Commercial Service (CCS), they have a lot of advice around procurement. https://www.crowncommercial.gov.uk/ But purchasing anything for education can be rather painful.

Multiple Monitors - How do you manage them on a large scale...
RKing replied to CyBeRkId2002's topic in Hardware
Just thought that I would ask. Have you thought about these: iiyama ProLite XUB2492HSN-B5 (LED monitor - Full HD (1080p) - 24") They have built in docks, so there will only be a USB cable coming from them. These are what we are going to test, as we have given teaching staff laptops and are thinking about removing the desktops from staff rooms. The downside is, many of the manufacturers are doing away with the VGA port. -

I bought my laptop from these, they are refurbished, but they are good. Items in MorganComputers store on eBay ! - will need a graphics card though, as most seem to be ex-office based computers.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked before. We are a college based in Manchester. I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies in or around Manchester that will repair the Smart projectors (mainly Unifi 55/w)? We are currently using Optoma, who have started letting us down. Thank you for your help and advice.
