Plus (one presumes) higher service charges to fund a full-time fire marshall, which will apparently cost £300,000/year.

OK - bumping an old thread but given the news today....

 

 

So the inquiry says CLEARLY that the cladding contravened the building regulations

 

doesn't this mean that this now becomes a case of - at least morally - murder

 

maybe legally it can only be something else - corporate manslaughter or something

 

but at this point it surely should become a police matter

 

maybe it needs to wait for the conclusions of the next part of the inquiry - but this is the first authoritative entity that has declared that regulation were ignored

 

hence the deaths were no accident but were directly caused by the actions of others

I would have thought it would be Gross Negligence Manslaughter, however:

The offence of gross negligence manslaughter (GNM) is committed where the death is a result of a grossly negligent (though otherwise lawful) act or omission on the part of the defendant

If the cladding was decidedly not up to code, I suspect it's not 'otherwise lawful'
