PJR Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Hi I would like to learn how to create a report from Sims using an Excel template, so that the output is always set up the same (eg as a Pivot table) but I have no idea how to begin. Please could someone guide me or send me a link, if there has already been a post on this. Many thanks
PhilNeal Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 (edited) There's an advanced training course that covers this and more. Edited May 12, 2017 by PhilNeal
DSapseid Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Ive done the advanced reporting with excel analysis course a couple of years ago and it is really good. Learnt a lot and have been able to create lots of nice reports since. This is the one i did Advanced Reporting with Excel Analysis | Capita SIMS
bobsmith Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 If you're confident in Excel itself, then you can get started by following the QRS available in the help within SIMS. QRS - Reporting - Create a macro report from SIMS allowed me to do my first automagical Excel output. QRS = Quick Reference Sheet
PJR Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 Thanks Bob. After some rummaging, I have managed to find the documentation and it has got me started!
bobsmith Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Follow it to the letter, everytime I thought I could take a shortcut it went wrong.
vikpaw Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Worth a look at this thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/38519-edit-excel-output.html A case, guide doc, example code...
