They can't all be in the ride's carriage for every student and they can't be held responsible if said student disobeys the safety instructions that are put in place for a reason.

IMO they need to ensure adequate supervision and it is not entirely reasonable to expect an 11 year old to understand the consequences of not listening properly to, and then not sticking to the points of a safety briefing. Any risk assessment should include supervision of minors when there are such risks of injury. The park too IMO looks a bit vulnerable. If they say "do not stand up", why aren't seat belts then mandatory which would prevent someone standing up (without taking the positive action of unbuckling) and why if the ride, to be safe, needs people to adhere to their rules, do they allow unsupervised children on the ride?

One report suggested Evha had stood up during the ride, in which up to six people sit on a large round inflatable raft, and hit her head as she fell into the choppy water.

"The theme park, which opened in 1949, is operated and owned by the Bryan family and had an exemplary ride safety record" It appears its only looks. It hasn't been reported a teacher was on the ride but for all we know that there was one but its just not been said about

I am very surprised that the ride doesn't have seatbelts but i think it is unreasonable to blame the school. 11 year olds are perfectly capable of understanding and obeying rules. She would probably have been OK if she didnt bang her head. 11 year olds walk happily to school, crossing roads and dealing with all sorts of hazards. They aren't babies!

Ratio of Student to teacher on our trips is 10:1 ok we are a secondary but if a teacher was with them, they dont know what is coming up and can only tell them can physically restrain on a ride. 1

The risk assessment for students going on rides where there are 6 seats that are not belted down would clearly show if a adult was not present would constitute a high risk. The school failed the kids. Risk assessment: Thousands of people including children use this ride each day. Millions per year. Park has never had a critical safety incident in it's history and staff are trained to keep customers safe with robust health and safety policies. Warning signs around the ride inform riders of safety regulations in large bold letters.

That ride is incredibly safe (have been on it too many times to count) and the only way you are falling out of that ride is if you are standing up. As you line up for the ride speakers blare out the safety instructions etc. Going on one of these trips with the school it is impossible to actually manage all the kids. We told them to go off in groups minimum of 4 but that still caused problems with some not wanting to go on some rides etc. Some teachers hate rides so won't go on them whilst others will and will meet kids on them. It is a real difficult one for the school.

You can't have seatbelts on a rubber ring ride. If it overturned everyone would drown. Better they fall off
