I have no idea why, but it popped in to my head this morning that I used to watch music demos on my 486 PC which, at the time, pushed the boundaries of what a computer was capable of with the graphics.

The chess set at the end of this one was mind blowing at the time.

Jesus on E's on the Amiga was alwasys a favourite too.

Anyone else, or just me being sad........

So much of the design has been parodied since that these initially seem like a spoof themselves now! I remember seeing demos back in the 8 bit days on C64, but never really understood the appeal beyond a technical appreciation. I just want to shoot stuff or write some BASIC.

Only a few demos I remember, mostly raytracing stuff from back in the 286 days. If you were lucky enough to have a co-processor, you could see an almost fully rendered 5 second scene in around half an hour. That and Modtracker was all I needed! :D
