xibodan Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Xibo can do one. Docker is a joke as it is, and Xibo just worked beforehand. If you're unwilling or unable to consider Docker, install Xibo without docker, as you did before. There are instructions for doing that here: Xibo Documentation. You just need to take care with your webroot, mod_rewrite and ZMQ bindings (if you want push messaging).
gh5000 Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 I didn't have a problem using docker myself. Spun up a ubuntu vm and followed the instructions on the website. The community.xibo instructions by Alex are a bit easier to follow than the actual instructions. I always find these things like docker is easier to get running under Linux than windows - less chance of some spurious windows setting causing an issue.
mjk Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 I'm definitely in the pro-docker camp and I can't see why people find it confusing??? One of the most useful bits of software I've come across: it makes servers ultra portable without specific infrastructure! Good work Xibo keeping up with the times!

Simcfc73 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 (edited) Got it up and running nicely, everything was working until I rebooted then it went back to default and lost everything. It didn't seem to be writing to the shared folder so no idea whats happened. Not sure if I trust it now ----------------------------update-------------------------------- Found the issue Please note, that at the time of writing, there is a bug with Docker for Windows which means that when your Windows computer is restarted, the CMS will appear to lose all your Media, Layouts and Configuration. Your content is safe! Until this issue is resolved, after a reboot, you will need to manually restart the CMS containers to restore the content. To do so, you would run the following from the PowerShell command prompt: cd \Xibo-docker docker-compose stop docker-compose start where \Xibo-docker is the directory you've installed the CMS in. My colleague has been putting it off for a while and i'm hoping someone has successfully managed this so i can point him in the right direction.
