Oaktech Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Does UEV work with 10 Education or just 10 Enterprise? I'm just starting to look at the finishing touches to my 10 deployment and the idea of using UEV has hit me... But I've currently used the 10 Edu branch, will it work? I've spoken to licensing and I can apply to have Ent instead of Edu for no further cost, but I don't want to have to redo my image!
Spenketh Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Yeah UEV works on W10 Education https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10_editions 1
DJ-1701 Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 S-Weet... UEV Here I come! Great, when can we expect to see your documentation?
Oaktech Posted March 31, 2017 Author Posted March 31, 2017 Great, when can we expect to see your documentation? Probably some when around 2019. 1
maark Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 I will post something if I ever get it working - working on a test machine but slow progress not helped by microsoft documentation 2
MrKJLS Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 You seen this thread? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/181024-windows-10-profiles.html 1
free780 Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Yes I tried it the other day. Service wouldn't start. You have to register a template. 1
MrKJLS Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Yes I tried it the other day. Service wouldn't start. You have to register a template. Have you tried running the Powershell Commands (if you're running Windows 10 1607)? Enable-UEV Then you can run get-uevstatus to see the status of UE-V. You might have a reboot pending before the service starts. 1
maark Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 make sure you download the latest uev admx templates for windows 10 so you can apply from group policy. There will be then an option to "enable uev" on computers. The older admx templates did not have this - only "use user exeperience virtualisation" 1
Oaktech Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 You seen this thread? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/181024-windows-10-profiles.html Started reading that thread when it was new but apparently I stopped before it got good. I'm on it again now. 1
maark Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 If you want to generate templates then use https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/windows-assessment-deployment-kit rather than the link to the generator in the win 10 profiles post as that does not work with 1607 windows version 2
PurpleTentacle Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Probably some when around 2019. Just in case you hadn't noticed, it's 2020.
