Technically, cases for the original iPad Air should fit, but volume button placement is different with this model to the Air as it has removed the physical lock switch. I'd imagine it won't be long before manufacturers start bringing out cases specifically designed for it.

There's a load of cheapo cases on Amazon/Ebay claiming to be for the new iPad but most of them appear to just be iPad Air cases unscrupulous merchants are trying to pass off as being made for the new iPad. I found that the thickness of the latest iPad 2017 made it not fit in the cases we tried, only a few mm but made all of the difference - iPad Air cases fit but ports were out especially camera hole. Looks like Griffin have pulled off an impressive hat-trick of magic tricks there, which I'm finding difficult to comprehend. Impressive. Well done to them, and can't wait to see some reviews of their cases. Good spot @Brimstone I stand corrected.
Chriss31 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Very disappointed to hear about this new lineup. Raises a real question for us as to whether we continue with Apple at all. I just don't understand this decision to not offer a lower-priced device akin to the Mini 2.
