Hi Guys,

I've been asked to provide a quote for the following items. This will bring their primary school up to a decent level...

  • 30 Laptops

  • 16 iPad Air 2 (and trolley)

  • 7 Mac Minis

  • 4 Apple TVs

Can anyone offer a decent supplier?

Thanks in advance.

What I do to get best prices, I go to 5 suppliers not the generic 3 to quote like for like.

I choose the best 3 prices that have quoted and see if they can improve because others have beaten them on certain items. Once they get back I choose the best one and tell them if they've lost still on a few to match. 99% it works well and I manage to save a lot of money. Unsure if I'm allowed to say all the companies I usually do business with? because ICT are an EduGeek sponsor.

Sorry ICT Dave ;)

Best prices I have managed to find for Apple Equipment has been from ICT Direct and Stone Computers, both Edugeek sponsors. I have used Toucan Computers in the past, which have been good, but have not had a response from them this year when I asked about some tech, so they might be having issues…

With regard to laptops, if the school wants refurbished, ICT Direct would be my first point of call. If they just want something new, then generally Insight has good prices too. If I need something more custom and tailored, VeryPC (also an Edugeek sponsor) and Stone Computers.

Hi

We use GBM Digital fro our mac stuff, have used KRCS and Toucan in the past with good service from all.

I would tend to go for a Apple Education reseller as they have all of the back office resources and are able to support the products well.

what laptops do you need? There is a benefit of having Apple throughout as they talk to and from the iPads etc. If you want Windows based we have had good results from Very PC also mentioned in thread!

Cheers

For the laptops, you can't go wrong with VeryPC! Great quality devices and the option for branding too (looks great when people visit the school, and gives them a bit of protection from scratches and scuffs!)

My suggestion would be to look at splitting the order too. Gives you more of a chance of getting the best price on everything. I've used UKZones, Misco, Toucan (but be careful they do like to try and add extras onto the order!) and Insight (usually use Insight for the few iMacs we have).

Trolley wise, I always go for Lapsafe, simply because I know they will work and won't break after a knock. Zioxi trolleys i've had nothing but problems with.
