From digging a little deeper looks like it requires windows update kb3033929 installed. But windows update is running chronically slowly [emoji30]

Now windows update says it's already installed [emoji30]

Have you tried different users on the same machine, Roger?

From my testing works fine on a shared machine. If you log back into the shared machine it remembers your login details and maps the drive automatically. But as soon as you log into a different computer it doesn't remember the login details and you would have to re-enter them everytime you changed machines, which I can see as a stumbling block for us at the moment.

Anyone have a way around this?

The settings appear to be saved in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\DriveFS which doesn't roam.

Works fine at work. At home I get Error Code 5?

The one thing that is annoying is at work Google docs open in Edge as default - I'd love to change this.

Use the XML file method to set your default browser. That will fix it.

Has anyone tried it who uses SAML? Can you get it to SSO?

I don't use SAML but willing to give it a try if you can give me some pointers as to how you think it should be setup?

I take it there's no way to edit where this is saved? Do you know which file stores it?

Similar to where it stores bookmarks and passwords, meaning those don't follow you to different computers (and the way our SSO is set up means users can't log in to the browser to create synced profiles)

Not at the moment at least.

Do you know which file stores it?

There appears to be lots of files in the DriveFS folder that store various settings (most of them are SQLite DBs).

I have managed to get it installed on a test windows 7 machine but if I log in with a teacher account or student account it allows me to run the software and sign in, click allow to the permissions and then stops and doesn't sign me in.

Anyone know what this could be? Can't see anything in filtering but wondered if it could be because it is mapping a drive possibly?

Anyone had similar issues?

Wish I'd been accepted to trial so that I could test...

Just got my invitation last night and I signed up when this thread started...there is still hope for you!

Presumably if you're signed in to Google before you open it, it doesn't ask you to re-authenticate?

It does, even with federated identity

The next time someone goes to logon to this try typing and then press delete. I thought I was going crazy but it deletes two characters at a time for me. Wondering if it's just me.

Yes I can confirm this happens when you delete. Not a major issue as the solution is simple... don't make mistakes!

Do we now have access to 1 Exabyte of storage space?

Probably. Google Drive used to limit each user but then changed this to "unlimited". Maybe the limit is in fact 1 Exabyte, but they figured that's basically the same thing...

It's unlimited on an Edu account. Windows reports the same in file stream regardless of how much you dump into Drive. Our top user has about 22Tb in their Drive - so some way to go to get to 1Eb. However, I'll warn them that they may only have 999978Tb free...

Bummer I was hoping for it to at least show a quarter of the way along the thin blue line.

Anyone trialed this on shared machines? Or with student computers?

Before I got accepted was wanting to use this for all students in the school on the student windows computers.

Thanks

I've enabled team drives, added myself to one, and now when running the windows app Drive File Stream when I try to log in it says "Drive file stream is not enabled for the account"

Any ideas?
